This page covers both the Privacy Policy (what Cars with Ryan collects through its forms and how it's used, under PIPEDA) and the Terms and Conditions (the rules for using the site, which is an informational and lead-referral resource, not a licensed dealership). Each incorporates the other by reference.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Ryan, the operator of carswithryan.ca (the "Site," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information submitted by visitors to the Site ("you" or "User"). This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Site's Terms and Conditions. By submitting information to the Site, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information as described in this Policy, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") and applicable Alberta law.

1. Information Collected

The Site collects personal information you provide directly through the following forms:

Each form contains a hidden field not visible to a human visitor, included solely to detect automated submissions. No information is collected from that field.

2. Use of Information

Information submitted through the contact or trade-in forms is used to respond to your specific inquiry, prepare the trade-in estimate you requested, or otherwise fulfill the purpose for which it was submitted. It is not added to a recurring marketing list on that basis alone and is not used to initiate unsolicited contact unrelated to your submission.

3. Newsletter and Marketing Communications

The Site may operate a newsletter or send periodic marketing communications by email. Enrollment is voluntary and requires your separate, express consent given at the point of sign-up; submitting the contact or trade-in form alone does not enroll you in the newsletter. Each newsletter or marketing message will identify its sender and include a functional mechanism to unsubscribe, and any unsubscribe request will be honoured within the time required by applicable Canadian anti-spam law. You may withdraw your consent to receive these communications at any time without affecting the validity of consent given before its withdrawal.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers. However, you acknowledge and agree that the following disclosures may occur:

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Advertising

As of the date of this Policy, the Site does not run analytics software and does not set tracking cookies. Should analytics software be implemented in the future, this section will be updated to name the tool used and to describe available opt-out mechanisms prior to its implementation.

The Site may, now or in the future, display advertising or sponsored content served by third-party advertising networks. Those networks may set their own cookies or use other tracking technology to serve or measure advertisements, and may collect information about your visits to this and other websites. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the data practices of any third-party advertising network; such practices are governed by that network's own privacy policy, not this one. Where required, this section will be updated to name any advertising network in use and to describe available opt-out mechanisms.

6. Data Storage and Security

Information submitted through the Site is transmitted and stored using commercially reasonable technical safeguards. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information submitted to the Site.

7. Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, after which it is deleted or rendered anonymous.

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you are entitled to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, and request deletion of your information, subject to any legal obligation we may have to retain it. Requests may be submitted through the contact page and will be addressed within a reasonable time.

We reserve the right to amend this Policy at any time. The "Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date the current version took effect.

Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using carswithryan.ca (the "Site"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Ryan, the operator of the Site ("Ryan," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Site immediately.

1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms: "Site" means the website located at carswithryan.ca and all pages, subdomains, and content published under that domain. "Content" means all text, vehicle listings, pricing information, images, guides, and other material appearing on the Site, whether authored by Ryan or sourced from a third party. "Dealership" means any licensed motor vehicle dealer, whether one or more, whose inventory or pricing information is referenced or displayed on the Site from time to time. "Submission" means any information, image, or file you provide to the Site through a form, including but not limited to the contact form and trade-in inquiry form.

2. Nature of the Site

The Site is an independent, personally operated informational and lead-referral resource. It is not a licensed motor vehicle dealer, does not hold or offer vehicle inventory for sale, and does not process, negotiate, or complete vehicle sales, financing, leasing, or payment transactions of any kind. Any vehicle listing, price, rebate, or specification displayed on the Site is derived from information published by a Dealership and is subject to change or withdrawal without notice, including prior sale of the vehicle in question. No Content on the Site constitutes an offer capable of acceptance, a binding quotation, or a representation that a specific vehicle remains available at a specific price. Any transaction contemplated as a result of your use of the Site is between you and the applicable Dealership and is governed solely by the terms agreed between you and that Dealership. Nothing in these Terms or on the Site creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or fiduciary relationship between you and Ryan. Your use of the Site is entirely voluntary, and you assume full responsibility and all risk for any decision you make in reliance on the Site.

Every vehicle referenced or displayed on the Site, and all information about it, including its make, model, trim, condition, odometer reading, photographs, and price, is the property of, sourced from, and controlled exclusively by the applicable Dealership. Ryan holds no ownership interest in, has no possession of, and exercises no control over any such vehicle, and does not set, approve, or have any authority to alter any price, rebate, or incentive shown. All pricing, availability, and vehicle information displayed on the Site is set solely by the applicable Dealership and may differ from what is actually offered to you at the point of sale. The Site may reference multiple, unrelated Dealerships, and the inclusion of a Dealership's inventory on the Site does not create any partnership, agency, or joint venture between Ryan and that Dealership, nor does it make Ryan responsible for that Dealership's acts, omissions, pricing, or the condition of any vehicle it lists.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. RYAN EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. Without limiting the foregoing, Ryan does not warrant that pricing, availability, specifications, or incentive information displayed on the Site is current or error-free at the time of your review, nor that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of error, defect, or harmful component. You access and use the Site entirely at your own risk and are solely responsible for independently verifying any price, specification, rebate, or vehicle's continued availability directly with the applicable Dealership prior to relying on it or acting upon it.

4. No Professional Advice

Content published on the Site, including buying guides, model comparisons, and financing explainers, is provided for general informational purposes applicable to an Alberta and Canadian audience and does not constitute financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice tailored to your individual circumstances. Your eligibility for financing, the interest rate offered to you, and the value assigned to any trade-in vehicle are determined solely by the applicable lender or Dealership at the time of a transaction, based on factors not known to or controlled by Ryan. Nothing on the Site should be construed as a guarantee of credit approval, financing terms, or trade-in value.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RYAN BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY, WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFIT, LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, OR LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON CONTENT, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SITE, EVEN IF RYAN HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Where applicable law does not permit the exclusion of a particular category of damages, that exclusion shall not apply to the extent, and only to the extent, prohibited by that law, and in that circumstance Ryan's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site, however caused, shall not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).

6. Release

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release and forever discharge Ryan from any and all claims, demands, actions, and damages of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with your dealings with any third party encountered through or facilitated by the Site, including any Dealership, referral recipient, advertiser, or other user, whether the claim arises from that third party's acts, omissions, representations, or the outcome of any transaction between you and them. If you are a resident of a jurisdiction that requires a specific statutory disclosure for a release of unknown claims to be effective, you waive the benefit of that provision to the fullest extent the law of that jurisdiction permits such a waiver.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ryan, and any party to whom your inquiry is referred as described in the Privacy Policy above, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory: (a) your access to or use of the Site; (b) any Submission made by you, including any inaccurate, false, or unauthorized information or image contained therein; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any right of a third party, including any intellectual property or privacy right; or (e) your dealings with any third party referred to or encountered through the Site.

8. User Submissions

By making a Submission through the contact form, the trade-in inquiry form, or any other form on the Site, you represent and warrant that the information and any accompanying images are accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to submit them, and you bear sole responsibility for that accuracy. Ryan is not liable for any decision made in reliance on a Submission that later proves inaccurate or incomplete. You grant Ryan a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, store, and, where applicable, display your Submission, including any photograph, for the purpose of responding to your inquiry, preparing a trade-in estimate, and, where a vehicle you submit is subsequently accepted in trade, marketing that vehicle for resale. Submission of a form does not create, and shall not be construed as creating, any contract of sale, financing agreement, or trade-in commitment; any such agreement is binding only if and when reduced to writing and executed with the applicable Dealership. Collection and handling of personal information submitted through the Site is governed separately by the Privacy Policy above, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Acceptable Use

You shall not: (a) reproduce, scrape, or republish Content from the Site without prior written consent; (b) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site; (c) upload any image or file you do not have the legal right to share; (d) attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying systems; or (e) use the Site for any unlawful purpose. Ryan reserves the right to refuse to respond to, and to report to the appropriate authorities, any Submission reasonably believed to be fraudulent, abusive, or the product of automated or malicious activity.

10. Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including the applicable Dealership's website and various social media platforms, provided for your convenience. Ryan does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked third-party site. Your use of any linked third-party site is at your own risk and is subject to that site's own terms and privacy practices.

The Site may display advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate links from third-party advertisers. The appearance of an advertisement or sponsored listing on the Site is not an endorsement, recommendation, or verification by Ryan of the advertiser, its products, or its services, and Ryan has not independently vetted any such advertiser. Any transaction, correspondence, or dealing you have with an advertiser encountered through the Site is solely between you and that advertiser, and Ryan is not a party to, and bears no liability arising from, that transaction or dealing.

11. Newsletter and Communications

Where the Site offers a newsletter or periodic email communications, enrollment is voluntary and subject to the separate consent and unsubscribe provisions set out in the Privacy Policy above. Content distributed through such communications is provided for general informational purposes only, on the same "as is" basis described in Section 3 above, and does not constitute a guarantee that any vehicle, price, or offer referenced remains available at the time you receive it.

12. Intellectual Property

All text, guides, design elements, and layout of the Site, excluding third-party Content, are the property of Ryan or are used under licence and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. No portion of the Site may be reproduced, distributed, or republished without prior written consent. Vehicle photographs, descriptions, specifications, and pricing sourced from a Dealership remain the property of, and subject to the control of, that Dealership and are displayed on the Site solely for the purpose of identifying and describing the vehicle in question, as indicated on the applicable page. Ryan claims no ownership interest in any such Dealership-sourced material.

All vehicle manufacturer names, model names, dealership names, and other trademarks, service marks, and logos appearing on the Site, including without limitation the Honda name and logo and the logos of any social media platform linked from the Site, are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Their use on the Site is solely for identification and reference purposes, to describe the vehicles, manufacturers, dealerships, or platforms in question, and does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or approval by, or partnership with, the trademark owner. No infringement of any third party's trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property right is intended, and any such right holder may contact Ryan via the contact page to request removal or correction of any material believed to infringe their rights.

13. No Reliance

You acknowledge that, in agreeing to be bound by these Terms, you have not relied on any representation, warranty, promise, or statement, whether written or oral, that is not expressly set out in these Terms.

14. Limitation Period

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or cause of action you may have arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy above, or your use of the Site must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action first arose, failing which it is permanently and irrevocably barred.

15. Individual Claims Only

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought and resolved solely on an individual basis, and you waive any right to bring, join, or participate in a class, collective, or representative proceeding against Ryan. Where applicable consumer protection legislation renders this section unenforceable as to a particular claim, this section shall not apply to that claim to the extent, and only to the extent, required by that legislation.

16. Amendment

Ryan reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time, in his sole discretion, without prior notice. The "Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date on which the current version took effect. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the amended Terms.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You irrevocably attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta in respect of any such dispute or claim.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy above, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ryan with respect to your use of the Site and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, whether written or oral, relating to that subject matter. No waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of that or any other provision.
